In Oklahoma, a real estate broker license supervises real estate associates and has a “sub-license” type of Broker Manager, Proprietor Broker, or Branch Broker. Real estate brokers are responsible for all actions of associates who are assigned to them.
Broker License Requirements
- Two years of active experience as a sales associate or broker associate within the previous five years. The first year provisional licensure year does not count toward the two years.
- 90-hour real estate broker course.
- Course not needed if licensee already completed the course for their broker associate license.
- 15-hour Broker in Charge Course.
- Document at least ten transactions within the previous five years.
- “Transaction” means an activity or process to buy, sell, lease, rent, option or exchange real estate. Such activities or processes may include, without limitation, soliciting, advertising, showing or viewing real property, presenting offers or counteroffers, entering into agreements and closing such agreements.
- Pass broker exam.
- If the applicant has already passed the broker exam for their broker associate license, then the applicant won’t need to re-take the broker exam.
- $75 state exam fee.
- Active Broker License Fee ($225)
Broker Associate License
A real estate broker associate doesn’t supervise and works under the supervision of a real estate broker.
Real Estate Broker Associate License Requirement
- Two years of active experience as a sales associate or broker associate within the previous five years.
- 90-hour real estate broker course.
- Pass broker exam.
- $75 state exam fee.
- Active Broker Associate License Fee ($195)
